7.3.06 Quote of the Month: July

No price is set on the lavish summer; June may be had by the poorest comer. ~James Russell Lowell, The Vision of Sir Launfal, 1848

Hello, fellow quoters! I hope your summers are going well. I am having a great summer so far and I am looking forward to tomorrow and the fireworks. I picked this quote because I think it has more than one meaning. It can be read as saying that everyone can enjoy summer or it can be read as saying everyone SHOULD enjoy summer. In today’s world, we get in too much of a hurry and we feel that it is not a vacation unless it is away from home which can be expensive. I have found that some of the best and most relaxing times where spent around a dinner table with my family telling stories to each other and laughing until our tummies hurt. I have also found it very relaxing to find a quite spot and read. Whatever it is…find something you like and enjoy the summer.

Happy 4th July to you. I love staying at home, I feel relaxed and carefree. If I go on a vacation I'm left feeling tired, worn out and stressed :=)

Oh and there's a slice of cake for you on my blog if you are hungry :=)
